Photographers At Whitby Goth Weekend April 2022 – Video One

Did we really miss the photographers at Whitby Goth Weekend ??

The Covid Pandemic and its associated Lockdowns brought me a long hard 2 years of depression and anxiety for me here in Whitby. Life was certainly tough at times. Only recently did I realise that part of those feelings were a sense of mourning for the loss of the things I love most about living in this area.

I eventually worked out that I missed a lot of the local events. The Regatta, Egton show and even Whitby Goth Weekend meant more to me than I had ever realised.

So with those two years behind us now and most of the doom merchants no longer shouting for mask mandates and horrendous lockdowns it was great to get the Goth Weekend back to its best.

I realise the photographers are an acquired taste for a lot of you, but I feel they are now as much a part of there event as The Goths themselves.

It was also a pleasure to see everyone being accepted on the streets of Whitby with the steam punks, cyber punks and even Victorians with Rats being welcomed onto the streets for this surreal weekend.

I hope you enjoyed the video. Ill be posting another in the next couple of days which features less of the photographers and more of those who took to the streets in their amazing costumes.

Thank – you all for viewing. Please follow our channel and share this video to your social media so that more people get the see the happenings on our beautiful streets.

Whitby Goth Weekend Video From Whitby Town Centre Video Two

This video of The Goth Weekend in Whitby takes a closer look at the weird and wonderful attendees at the event.

Can you see yourself in our video ?? Did you enjoy the weekend at Whitby ?? Please comment below.

I believe the majority of the people who visit our town each year for the goth weekend are well intentioned and are simply here to enjoy themselves, although sadly there are always the fringe elements who perhaps need to take a closer look at themselves such as those who don’t welcome all the peaceful well meaning individuals to the town,

Also those who think if you’re not dressed in Traditional Goth costume then you should not be here. Im really perplexed by that attitude, and although its not a majority attitude it certainly is amongst many of the comments I hear about the event.

There’s also a small amount of Nazis at the event and having talked to one over the weekend I can tell you they seemed very proud of their white supremesist hatred. But thankfully those people are a minority and most people in Whitby over the weekend were simply here to enjoy themselves.
